BIRD-A-THON '00

Participating in Madrone Audubon's annual February Bird-a-thon is really simple. Pick a day, pick a friend or two to team up with, and pick a place to bird. Then tease family, friends, and co-workers into betting how many different birds you can see, and get them to pledge a set sum per species (or a flat amount.) Then bird to your heart's content and collect the rewards for Madrone.

Next month there will also be opportunities to personally join a Bird-a-thon team led by an expert birder, or to sponsor an existing team simply by sending in a pledge on a form.

The Bird-A-Thon is a crucial source of funds for the chapter, and helps support projects such as Pee Wee Audubon, Audubon Adventures, and the Mayacamas Mountain Sanctuary. It is also a lot of fun and a personal challenge for many participants.
