River Advocate Sought

The community-based Russian River Watershed Council has been working closely with the Army Corps of Engineers and the State Resources Agency to develop a plan to protect, restore and enhance the biological health of the river. Funding has been secured to provide some staff support for the coming year and continue a study of tributary habitat by Bob Coey of the Department of Fish and Game.
This is one of our county's most urgent and important environmental issues, and Madrone Audubon needs to be involved. To do so, we must have an official, designated representative to the Council. This is an important job, and one in which a volunteer can make a very real difference.
The Council meets monthly in Cloverdale on a Saturday from 9am to noon. The next meeting is September 11th.
If you would consider accepting this important assignment on Madrone's behalf, please call Joannie Dranginis at 523-4373 for more details.
