Pee Wee Audubon
Primitive Technology
Sunday, November 15 This learning workshop focuses
on fire: making fire by friction, learning firebuilding skills and fire
safety, and practicing historic uses of fire and its products. The program
is for children 5 to 15, but some projects may not be suitable for the younger
children. We'll meet at the Group Campground at Spring Lake Park at 10 AM
and end at noon. Reservations are required. Please call Janice Sinclaire,
433-1150.
Directions: From Summerfield Road, turn east on Newanga to the
park entrance. There is a $3 parking fee.
Art and Nature with Ane Rovetta
Saturday, November 21 Ane Rovetta, the remarkable
artist, storyteller and naturalist, will lead a lively, fun-filled morning
of nature tales and drawing at the Bouverie Preserve near Glen Ellen. After
entertaining us with delightful stories, Ane will help us draw native animals
that we can take home. (She will provide the drawing supplies.) Dress for
cool weather and bring a lunch and liquids. The program will run from 10
AM to 1 PM; don't be late, because the entrance gate will be opened for
our arrival and will close promptly at 10. Reservations are limited, so
sign up now by calling Elham at 573-7183.
Directions: Take Highway 12 toward Glen Ellen. The Bouverie Preserve
is on the east side of the highway, between Madrone Road and the Arnold
Drive turnoff for Glen Ellen. It is just east of Sonoma Valley Regional
Park.
Hold this date! On December 5 Pee Wee will visit
Armstrong Woods with leader Joyce Bocci. Details in December newsletter. |
