Audubon Adventures

Teachers who have not yet enrolled their classrooms in Audubon Adventures have until September 30 to subscribe. Contributions also are still needed to help fund new Audubon Adventures classrooms.

The program, sponsored by the National Audubon Society, provides each child with a series of six illustrated newspapers of natural sciences information and projects, along with a teacher's guide and posters. The materials are shipped in October.

According to local Audubon Adventures chair Robert Evans, about 100 Sonoma County classrooms will be participating during the 1998-99 school year. To enroll, please call Robert at 823-0609, or Kathy Angell at 838-4041.

The cost of Audubon Adventures is $35 per class, usually paid by a contributor who realizes the value of this sound, stimulating, and accessible enrichment program.

To support a classroom, please send a check for $35 made out to Madrone Audubon Society, care of Robert Evans, 1065 St. Helena Way, Sebastopol, California 95472. Specify that you want your gift used for Audubon Adventures. You may designate a teacher, class, school, or area to receive your gift of Audubon Adventures, or let Robert match your gift with a classroom.
