April 20 Membership Meeting

North Bay Herons and Egrets

John Kelly, Resident Biologist at the Cypress Grove Preserve and director of its Heron and Egret Project, will be the speaker at our April 20 Membership Meeting. His topic is one of special interest to many of us: "Breeding Populations of Herons and Egrets in the North Bay Area." Many Audubon members have participated in the Heron and Egret Project, and this talk will bring us some of the results to date from that important study. John will also discuss his work on shorebirds and Tricolored Blackbirds.

John, who is a Ph.D. candidate at U.C. Davis, holds a Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology from Humboldt State. An excellent teacher and researcher, he formerly was Education Director of the Point Reyes Bird Observatory.

Nominations
The April meeting is also the one at which we elect our officers for the coming year. (Installation occurs during the annual dinner in May.) Nominating Committee chair Diane Hichwa will be presenting the following slate:

Corresponding Secretary: Sherrie Thomas
Treasurer: Michael Manner
