Saving the Marin-Sonoma Coast

L. Martin Griffin, M.D., one of Sonoma County's foremost conservationists, has documented some decisive North Coast environmental battles in his new book, Saving the Marin-Sonoma Coast. Dr. Griffin is well known for his leadership in creating Audubon Canyon Ranch and its three sanctuaries, including the Bouverie Audubon Preserve in Glen Ellen. He was also a major player in the fight for the Point Reyes National Seashore and is a leader in the ongoing battle to save the Russian River.

Dr. Griffin will be the speaker at Madrone Audubon's annual meeting on Monday evening, May 18. The book will be available there for purchase and signing. The author will also be appearing at Santa Rosa's Barnes and Noble book store at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, April 29.

The 295-page book, illustrated with more than 200 memorable photos, illustrations, and original maps, is available for $29.95 paperbound or $45 hard cover at selected book stores. It can also be purchased directly from the publisher, Sweetwater Springs Press, Post Office Box 66, Healdsburg, California 95448 (please add 7.5% sales tax and $4.50 for shipping).
