Successful Christmas Bird Count Field Trip Reports |
National Audubon Board Visits Sancutary More than 50 National Audubon Society Board members, spouses, and staff visited the Mayacamas Mountains Sanctuary on Friday, December 5. The field trip was arranged in connection with an NAS Board meeting in Napa. Hosting on behalf of the Madrone Chapter were Vice-president Dan Kahane, Past President Peter Leveque, and Publicity Chair Judy Brinkerhoff. Our distinguished visitors, cheerful despite a miserable day and lousy birding conditions, arrived in a small fleet of vans, toured the Sanctuary, and enjoyed refreshments. A porta-potty provided for the occasion reportedly blew over twice, but no one was in it at the time. Thanks to President Jeff Holtzman, our handsome, official Mayacamas Sanctuary sign was completed and in place for the event.
