February Meeting
Managing Annadel's Oak Woodlands

Prescribed burns can generate a lot of heat, not all of it associated with fire. Our February membership meeting will explain how such draconian measures as burns and the girdling or removal of Douglas firs are helping to preserve and restore the oak woodlands at Annadel State Park.

Our speaker, botanist Steve Barnhart, participated in the studies ten years ago that were the foundation for the current management strategy. He has taught forest ecology at Santa Rosa Junior College for 25 years.

The meeting begins at 7:30 PM, Monday evening, February 16, in Ingram Hall at the First Presbyterian Church, 1550 Pacific Avenue, Santa Rosa. The public is welcome, and there is no charge.
