Audubon Adventures Booming

Thanks to the efforts and contributions of many Madrone members, Audubon Adventures is now reaching 86 classrooms in Sonoma County! This means that more than 2,000 students here will be benefiting from National Audubon's wonderful natural history package in the current school year. Sixty of the teachers who signed up to participate attended our Audubon Adventures workshop at the spring teachers' inservice training program.

The cost of $35 per class was paid by individual classroom sponsors, contributors to last year's Madrone Audubon fund drive, proceeds from our Sonoma County Breeding Bird Atlas, and sales of bird boxes constructed by Madrone volunteers. Special thanks to Robert Evans for bringing many teachers into the program for the first time this year, and to the County Office of Education for its interest in Audubon Adventures. Congratulations, everyone!
