Condor Recovery Project |
Annual Meeting Condor Recovery ProjectDAVID CLENDENEN, Lead Biologist with the Condor Recovery Project in Ventura, will speak at Madrone Audubon's Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner on Monday evening, May 19. Clendenen is "the primary investigator in what is probably the nation's best-known endangered species recovery effort," according to Program Chairman Peter Leveque. He has been with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife project since its inception more than 15 years ago, and has participated in all releases of the captive-raised birds. In addition to sharing his inside view of the project and its magnificent, imperiled birds, he will also show a selection of his widely-published Condor photographs. All Madrone Audubon members and friends are invited to attend. Please bring a potluck dish for six (entree, salad or dessert), along with your own dishes and utensils. The Chapter will provide beverages (sorry, no wine or spirits at the church). Arrival time is around 6:00 PM; dinner will be served at 6:30, and the program will follow at 7:30. Come early or stay late if you can help with set-up or clean-up. The meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Ingram Hall, 1550 Pacific Avenue, Santa Rosa. As always, there is no charge for this very special event. And, as always, the public is welcome. |
