Bird Boxes a Pee Wee Success

Spring Lake Ranger Jennifer DeSelle reports that bird boxes placed at SpringLake Park by our Pee Wee Auduboners have been used by a wide variety ofbirds. Her records from the 1996 season show four boxes occupied by TreeSwallows, and one each used by Western Bluebirds, Ash-throated Flycatchers,Plain Titmice, Chestnut-backed Chickadees and Western Screech-Owls.

Pee Wee Auduboners are to be congratulated for recognizing the importanceof providing nesting opportunities for our local hole-nesting birds, andfor conducting this project so successfully.
