We had verygood looks at a Cooper's and Red-shouldered Hawk. We werealso treated to everal mixed flocks of Juncos, Black-throated Gray Warblers,Chestnut-backed Chickadees, Plain Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatches,and Ruby-crowned Kinglets. October 5, 1996, Crane Creek Park Fifteen birders turned out on an Indian Summer's day to get great looksat 30 species. Highlights such as two low-soaring adult Golden Eaglesand five White-tailed Kites perched in a snag, all showing in thescopes, were complimented by many highly active American Kestrelsand large flocks of Western Bluebirds. Two Bewick's Wrensand a small flock of Lark Sparrows afforded nice viewing, while alarge clump of California fuchsia played host to an Anna's Hummingbird. |
