Now is also the start of a new Madroneseason and the time many of us ponder our role as Madrone Audubon members. Sometimes we overlook the significance of membership by itself. It's importantto note that by just joining and being a member comes a statement of supportthat our chapter is on the right track to foster conservation, providecommunity education and help preserve our declining bird populations. Yourmembership also helps to amplify our voice when we speak out on importantissues--and with environmental protection these days facing challenges fromSacramento to Washington, D.C., a strong conservation voice is needed now morethan ever. So, remember, there's no such thing as being just a Madrone member. But if youdo want to get more involved, there is lots to do. Madrone work is both fun andrewarding. Past President, Peter Leveque, is now our Volunteer Coordinator soif you think you might want to get more involved, please leave him a message onour office phone at 546-7492. But remember, whatever your Madrone role is, from passive supporter to activeparticipant, your continued membership is a powerful and positive statement ofsupport.
