Get in the Migration with
Pee Wee Audubon

It's hawk migration time again. On Sunday, September 29, we will meet DebKremins on Hawk Hill in the Marin Headlands at 10:30 a.m. We'll learn toidentify the hawks, falcons and eagles of California and watch them streakingpast us on their way south. Hundreds of these magnificent birds fly over thenarrow funnel of land at the Golden Gate each day during this peak migrationtime. Some are captured in the valley below, banded, and then brought to thehill where we can see them up close before they are released.

Madrone Audubon's Pee Wee programs are suitable for children of all ages andtheir families. The outing will last until about 2 PM, so bring lunch andliquids for a picnic overlooking the spectacular San Francisco Bay. Dress inlayers, including a windbreaker and sweater. Bring binoculars if you have them. Please call Elham at 573-7183 if you plan to attend.

Directions: Take Highway 101 south to the last Sausalito (MarinHeadlands) exit before the Golden Gate Bridge. From the off ramp make animmediate left, then an immediate right onto Conzelman Road. Go 1.8 miles upthe hills to the summit. Pull off the road completely to park before the roadbecomes one-way. Use the restrooms here and walk behind the white gate on theocean side of Hawk Hill. Continue to the summit and to the middle platformwhere we will meet.
