PeeWee Report Observations Walkabout Results Docent Training at Bolinas Lagoon Costa Rica Birding Poster Contest: Sonoma County Kids Sweep Grade 3-5 Awards Second Annual Leveque Lecture Welcome New Members Awards at Festive Annual Meeting Environmental Educators to Meet in Bay Area Fall Sanctuary Camp-Out | September General Meeting The Program Committee is very pleased to announce that Wade Eakles, aprofessional raptor biologist, will speak at our first General Meeting of thenew Madrone Audubon year, on Monday, September 16. His topic will be "Arizona'sBald Eagles--Then and Now," a presentation based on his studies of the habitatrequirements of wintering and breeding Bald Eagles in Arizona.Mr. Eakles has been an ecologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wetlandsregulatory program in northern California since 1990, and a volunteer hawkwatcher for the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory since 1991, studying raptormigration along the Pacific Coast. He previously participated in Bald Eaglereintroductions on Santa Catalina Island, and studied the feasibility ofidentifying individual Bald Eagles with sonograms or voiceprints. Mr. Eakles is an excellent photographer as well as an established authority inraptor biology, so we can look forward to a very interesting evening. Themeeting begins at 7:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Ingram Hall, 1550Pacific Avenue, Santa Rosa. As always, the public is welcome.
