Swallows are dying in CalTrans' netting!

For the latest information and what YOU can do about the situation
with Cliff Swallows being caught in netting placed by CalTrans
at the Petaluma bridge, please go to the

May 20th - Press Release
Madrone Audubon, along with Native Songbird Care & Conservation,
the Center for Biological Diversity, the Animal Legal Defense Fund,
and others have filed a lawsuit against CalTrans and other highway agencies.

on the cliff swallow issue, dated May 6, 2013.

Help now with bird and marine mammal surveys from Bodega Head to Jenner
as Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods begin local seabird monitoring.

Help in April and May to monitor the Black-crowned Night Herons, Snowy Egrets,
Great and Cattle Egrets nesting anywhere in the county, as well as the big gliding Great Blues...

In the NW reaches of Sonoma County monitor nesting success of Black
Oystercatchers, guillemots, cormorants and gulls.

Results and comparisons may indicate climate changes, changes in County land use,
other environmental factors, or disturbance issues.

HELP US UNDERSTAND THE BIRDS AND THEIR NESTING NEEDS IN A CHANGING WORLD.
